How does novated leasing work?

Novated leasing involves three parties: your employee, a finance company, and you. It allows your employees to set up an agreement that takes their car finance payments directly from you as the employer, so it comes out of their pre-tax salary.

Whether it’s a new or used car, this allows your staff to bundle their car expenses along with their lease payments. This includes registration and insurance, as well as the cost of fuel, maintenance, tyres and car washing.

GST benefits

As an employer, you can claim the GST on your employees’ lease agreement as credit, which reduces your BAS liability significantly. This also improves cashflow, and gives your employees the financial benefits of a novated lease.

Both the finance and the vehicle are in the employee’s name, so your business takes zero risk. If an employee decides to leave your company, we’ll reconcile their account and your novation agreement with us ends the day they leave.
